QC Government Orders "No CCTV, No Business Permit" Policy

QC Government Orders

"No CCTV, No Business Permit" Policy

QUEZON CITY, METRO MANILA— Starting next year, businesses in Quezon City will be required to install closed-circuit television cameras (CCTV).

Mayor Herbert Bautista has directed the Business Permit and Licensing Office (BPLO) to make this effective next year.

Bautista is expecting all establishments to install their own CCTV after the set six-month compliance period.

The BPLO is also ordered to conduct inspections in establishments prior to issuance of business permits.

Bautista said that this is in line with achieving peace and order in the city and to prevent robberies, which usually happen in high risk establishments such as car traders, schools, convenience stores, gasoline stations and banks.

With the installation CCTV cameras, the city government eyes that the citys crime resolution and efficiency rate will improve over the next three years. This strategy will also be helpful in terms of improving citys road networks.

Government establishments are also told to set up CCTV cameras in their areas of responsibility, which will be useful in times of calamity.
